Official Cape Girardeau County records come from the agency that created or maintains them. The contacts below route court files to the Circuit Clerk, sheriff and jail records to the Justice Center, and statewide criminal-history requests to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. This private reference site is not a government records counter.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated resource cannot retrieve or correct a record, perform an official background check, accept a Missouri expungement petition, or answer for a court or law-enforcement agency.

The sheriff is the logical contact for deputy reports and county booking records. Filed criminal cases belong to the Circuit Clerk instead, even when the sheriff made the arrest.
